Summer Sack Lunch wrapped up to rave reviews at three sites including Steve Cox Memorial Park, Dick Thurnau Memorial Park & Skyway Park. 27 Rec Aides dedicated the summer to serving lunches, handing out arts and crafts, and playing different tag games daily.

In addition to providing recreation opportunities for families in Skyway and White Center, the Summer Sack Lunch Program is also a youth employment program that provides first-time employment opportunities to youth in underserved communities. The program provides training & direct service experience in community-based programming.

The Recreation Aides provided hands-on support for families in their communities. Whether providing lunch or giving the younger youth the opportunities to hang out with the big kids, the Rec Aides made sure everyone was included and had a fun-filled summer.
