Recreation Aide Program

SUMMER REC AIDE POSITION OPEN THROUGH MAY 19th!

King County Parks’ Recreation Aide Program provides leadership training and first-time employment opportunity to youth in underserved King County Communities. To date, the WCTP has hired and trained 150+ recreation aides to support programs in White Center and Skyway.

Recreation Aides support Summer Sack Lunch and Art in the Parks programs and lead recreational activities like games, arts and crafts, and athletics for groups of children and teens in a variety of settings. Positions open annually each spring.

In addition to assisting with the Lunch Program, the aides also work daily in the Teen Program Learning Garden and at family community events such as Night Out Against Crime and Movies in the Park.

Summer 2024 you can catch the Rec Aides at three sites:

Steve Cox Memorial Park Community Center (1321 SW 102nd St 98146) July 1st – August 16th: Mondays – Fridays from noon – 2pm.
