Written by Chloe

As we finish up the summer season and transition into fall, let’s take a look at some of what has happened at the WC Teen Program during the 3rd qtr.

Summer QTR Structured Programs

Over the summer, we have offered programs such as Crochet, Creative Corner, Jeopardy, 8 ball IRL, Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, and Burnt Toast. Our Teen Program also offers a variety of card and board games as well as a pool and foosball tables in our downstairs area.

Gamesroom Update

The gamesroom was hopping all QTR long with the top games this summer including:

  • Ligretto
  • Camp
  • Garbage
  • Scattergories
  • Uno
  • Mafia

Burnt Toast Update

Staff and Teens have also been served delicious dinners at the cabin thanks to chef Mark (pictured with Luc) and chef Frank during our program hours.

Gym Update

We have big news for our community! We’ve installed a new HVAC and AC, and our indoor gym is now open at full capacity with enhanced airflow and filtration. This delivers our teens and staff with the best quality environment for our gym programs. No more stuffy air or dust! Visit our gym and joy our clean refreshing air.

Summer Field Trips

The summer season at the Log Cabin goes beyond the cabin walls and with a lineup of exciting trips to keep our community active and connected. Our field trips this season included basketball tournaments as well as our yearly camping trip at Tolt McDonald. We look forward to hosting future trips with our teens and staff. In addition to this, our Aztec soccer team has hosted a few friendly games with neighboring teams.

ART CENTER MURAL UPDATE:

Our first mural is almost completed thanks to all of our teen volunteers, as well as Ms. Allison. Progress on our disco dance room mural has also begun and we can’t wait to see the final products! Additional help is always appreciated so if you or someone you know are interested in contributing to the mural, visit the Log Cabin during our program hours to learn more!

We are so excited to dive into another great season. Stay tuned for more blog posts and follow our socials for additional updates on our events and programs. We hope to see you all there!

The Log Cabin is open from 3pm-7:45pm Tuesday through Saturday for all teens ages 12 to 19. Stop by or follow us @AtTheLogCabin to learn more about the cabin and our hosted programs.
